Spring At Last!

October, November, December, January, February, March, and even April all have had snow, but this past weekend was a glimpse of a little hope for spring. This past weekend was heaven for me. My parents were gone, and I was off of work! So I had the weekend all to myself, and I took advantage of it! I tanned on the deck, went out to eat, and jammed to music as loud as I could. I also had two bonfires with my friends! I had so much fun, and wish my parents left town more often. They should be willing to leave because I'm a good kid! I even cleaned the basement before they got home! I think I was willing to do that just because the weather put me in such a great mood! I wish it could be spring all year!

  1. Rachel, very short and sweet reflection. You have two different pieces you seem to be looking at here: time off and your parents' trusting you. Either of these could be expanded more.

  2. This was a good way to show your personality. I agree with the warm week being fantastic. Finally we're getting closer to summer. You did a really good job explaining how important it is to you.

  3. I could feel all your happiness and excitment. Even though this is very short I think you said everything you needed to. It's very clear that you had a very fun weekend! I really hope the weather stays nice too! Good job!

  4. Rachel, I could easily visualize this whole piece as you described it. At first I was confused because it was only a paragraph, but I think that was also very intentional and powerful. I loved how intentional every word was. Good work!

  5. Spring is definitely my favorite season. I also like how you took off of work just to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and that fact of having the house to yourself. P.S. please change your font.

  6. Thanks for the invite to your bonfire with "friends". Kidding I was busy anyways. I really enjoyed your examples in this blog. I with my parents would leave me home alone too. I'm sure it is because they don't trust my brother... You deserve another weekend home alone because you cleaned the basement, just saying. Great job.

  7. My parents weren't gone that weekend but it gave me a good glimpse of summer too. Driving around town with the windows down, frolfing, and fires.
