Spring Fever!

Finally, it’s here! SPRING! It may not be completely warming up already, but these past two days have made me feel like a brand new person. I have been happier, more motivated, and just overall excited! Every year around this time, I can’t help but anticipate what is going to come next. Spring makes me think of the wonderful things to come, such as: summer break, friends, vacations, and endless memories. I have always been one that enjoys warm weather. My mom thinks I have some type of seasonal affective disorder, and I really believe her! Every year as soon as the weather starts to get cold, I get lazy. I have this feeling like I don’t want to ever leave the house! I sleep all the time, and I even sometimes get crabby! This may sound absolutely ridiculous, but I swear to it! I am so glad the sun has been out these past few days.

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.

-Robert Frost

 Spring is a time for enjoying the weather and starting fresh! Even though January is the technical start of the new year, I feel as if nothing is new until it starts to get warm! So hopefully this warmer weather is a sign of a new beginning; a brand new year, to make all new memories with my closest friends and loved ones.

  1. I believe that your mom is correct about you. haha. Spring is the most amazing part of the year because you never really know when it is going to come and sneak up on you. Because, admit it, the ground-hog does lie to us sometimes. I really like how you incorporated the poem from Robert Frost and your thoughts towards spring. Great job and thanks for sharing(:

  2. Wait a minute, you get crabby sometimes? Luckily it's all towards me. But I agree with you, I always get sick of the winter around January and get excited for spring. The poem was a nice addition.

  3. I really agree, I hate winter; I truly do. Unfortunatly we live in North Dakota and have no other choice but to live with it. The poem added some depth to it and you made valid points as to why Spring is one of the best times of the year. It's the time where winter is over and summer is coming! Good job!

  5. I would just like to point out that I am currently at Red Lodge snowboarding and there is a huge snow storm setting in which may delay our drive home. However I love spring and can't wait to start riding horse again. I think the poem added a lot to your writing. It was a great poem to pick and it gave much depth to the blog.

  7. I loved the part that Robert Frost wrote. I think it connected very well. Your piece was very honest and I can just picture everything happening around the seasons. I also thought it was clever about the new year in January or spring. Great work girl! (:

  8. Honest writing as your risk to share about yourself. The use of the poem is effective in sharing about your appreciation for spring. You have a strong voice in here, but I would like to see you give more examples and details about the feeling of winter. You do a great job providing examples about how you feel, but I think that stems from the way you view the winter.
